The church is found 100 metres away from the village.

A skilful restoration work in the twelfth century, conducted on the Church of Santa Maria and another ancient building in ruins, enabled the creation of an important museum exhibiting nativity scenes; artistic expressions of different cultures on the theme of the Nativity which has become part of world heritage.

The variety of the Nativity scenes displayed, expressive interpretations of the event itself are filtered by the sensitivity of the artist and offered to the viewer in the form of creations and sculptures which can provoke new emotions.

Nearby, a 5 metre high statue of Saint Francis, by the Sicilian artists Santo Paolo Guccione and Guido Carlucci, is worth a visit.
